The Journal of Economic and Social Science (JoESS), Volume 2, Number 3 (July–October 2025), presents five significant articles that collectively focus on Islamic Education and its implementation within contemporary social and economic contexts. Key highlights include the integration of religious values with professionalism, exemplified by the development of work experience in Sharia-based banks; the crucial role of non-formal institutions, specifically Majelis Ta'lim (Islamic study groups), in advancing religious education; a philosophical analysis of the concept of the learner from the perspectives of Western thought schools such as empiricism, nativism, and convergence theory, reviewed through an Islamic Educational lens; and the identification of challenges and innovative strategies in the teaching of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in Public Universities, alongside the integration of learning and instructional concepts from both Islamic and social perspectives. Overall, this issue aims to provide scholarly contributions that bridge fundamental Islamic teachings with the challenges posed by current academic developments and societal changes.
